Where did the name CAMEL HOUSE come from? For how long have concerts been held there? Carry on reading and you will be able to find the answers here.

FROM CAMEL BARN TO CONCERT HALL

The story of this beautiful place began with an English businessman, a passionate pianist and composer, Sir Ernest Hall. Not only did he love his native land, but he also had the Spanish island of Lanzarote in his heart. Shortly after the start of the new millennium, he realised his dream. He bought a ruin with an old camel barn in the beautiful village of Macher and had the vision of transforming the old walls into a magical property. Together with his wife Sarah and the German architect Heidi Hupe, he transformed the ramshackle building into a place where one could feel comfortable and the adjacent camel barn into a concert hall.

THE HOME OF THE CAMELS IN LANZAROTE GETS A NAME

Sir Ernest Hall adores music. And in this way, in 2010, he began to give concerts in his renovated building. The CAMEL HOUSE was turned into a place for art and classical concerts. But with the passage of time, the events gradually became less frequent and Sir Ernest Hall felt that it was time to find a successor for this very special place.

In 2022, Danielle Baumgartner and Roland Urech took charge of the CAMEL HOUSE. Now music echoes regularly around the old camel barn and once again, lovers of art and music come to Macher.

The CAMEL HOUSE is equipped with the latest generation lighting and a Yamaha grand piano and as of today, has a capacity for about a hundred people to enjoy the music
